Kwaito legend Thebe has been rocking the music scene for the past 15 years.
And the Bula Boot hitmaker is making a big comeback. His last album called Mjomba Last Man Standing was released in 2011.
His new 10-track album titled The Legend was released early last month.
Thebe Mogane (41) described it as a masterpiece, adding that it boasts a warm and mature sound fused with Sesotho, isiXhosa, isiZulu and Xitsonga lyrics.
The Thixo Ndixolele single is
already receiving airplay on many radio stations across the country.
The Saka Nyuka musician worked with the likes of iFani, HHP, Bloq Magandi and Kruna on the new album.
“I’m currently busy marketing my new album.
“I’ve planned a series of shows and I will tour the country towards the end of the year,” Thebe told SunBuzz.
Thebe is famous for classic hits such as Bula Boot, Phily, Groover’s Prayer, Lenyora and Nomathemba and others.
The Vanderbijlpark-born star started his career as a club DJ. He used to compose songs for friends.
Taking a stroll down memory lane, Thebe said: “After I finished my sound engineering studies, I had a burning passion and love for music. All I wanted to do was play music,” he said.
In 1990, he met his friend and co-owner of Kalawa Jazmee records Bruce Sebitlo, and as they say, the rest is history.
Thebe said the loyal support he gets from his fans has kept him going, and 12 albums later, they are still there by his side.
“Everywhere I performed, I received great support,” he said.
He said two years ago he decided to team up with Bruce again in a bid to bring back the original Thebe sound which is set to rock the airwaves.
