Teko Modise is on his way to losing his multi-million rand home and a BMW that forms part of his luxurious fleet if he doesn’t make the due payments.
Standard Bank Vehicle and Asset Finance obtained a judgement against the player last week, Sunday World reported. The paper claims that Teko is owing the bank R59 512 in arrears on his BMW 125i Coupe and R128 422 for his house.
The star, who has endorsement deals with commercial giants such as McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and Samsung is no stranger to financial issues, with DRUM magazine having published a story on the athlete’s financial woes earlier this year. Teko vehemently denied these reports, going as far as creating a hashtag on Twitter in response to the story.
Speaking on his home, a debt agent told the newspaper Teko had been ignoring calls to make payments: “They sent him letters reminding him to pay the arrears but he never did. They have now informed him they will take legal action against him and repossess the house. It’s sad because he is going to lose the house.”
