Rising star Anga Makubalo who played MJ in the popular soapie, Generations, has clinched a recording deal with Durban-based Afrotainment Music, owned by DJ Tira.
Anga, whose stage name is Naakmusiq, said he was happy to sign at Afrotainment.
“Yes, I’m part of the Afrotainment team. We’re taking things one step at a time,” he said.
“We have one mission here and that’s to make South Africa happy and dance. Uzobona wena!”
DJ Tira echoed Naakmusiq’s sentiments: “We’re happy to have him with us in the stable.”
Anga said the deal came at the right time. He and 15 other actors in the Generations cast were fired a month ago.
Anga was born in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape and relocated together with his mother to Jozi.
He released his debut album Love and Music in February this year.
